There is a large interest in establishing pine-hardwood mixtures but species combinations that optimize the benefits of mixing remain relatively unknown. We will present results from three different studies that examine mixtures of loblolly pine (Pinus taeda), shortleaf pine (P. echinata), and a variety of southeastern hardwood species.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the challenges associated with Southeastern pine-hardwood mixtures.
Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss future directions of mixed species management.
