Wildlife Acceptance Capacity (WAC) research saw a significant increase post-2000, driven by high HDI country collaborations. Key factors influencing WAC include attitudes, norms, values, and risk perceptions. Emphasizing a unified WAC definition and enhanced stakeholder engagement can improve wildlife management strategies, focusing on positive outcomes and reducing conflicts.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to analyze the impact of stakeholder attitudes, values, and perceptions on Wildlife Acceptance Capacity (WAC) and develop effective communication strategies to increase community support for WAC-informed wildlife management.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to evaluate the disparities in scientific collaboration on WAC research between countries with differing Human Development Indexes (HDIs) and propose strategies to strengthen research partnerships for the advancement of global WAC initiatives.
