An invasive pathogen and climate change threaten southwestern white pine, a native tree in the US Southwest. Ongoing research into both threats is critical to inform management that will conserve southwestern white pine populations and maintain this important species in the landscape.

1. Describe the threats to southwestern white pine and how these threats interact to influence entire populations of the species.
2. Understand long-term research results and the corresponding management implications for conservation of southwestern white pine.
