This study provides an overview of the economic feasibility and resource availability for advancing the mass timber industry in the Great Lakes region and the broader United States. It aims to bridge knowledge gaps and provide future market direction with raw material supply pathways, both locally and regionally.
Learning Objectives:
This study investigates stakeholders’ perception on different aspects of mass timber to gauge the level of acceptance of mass timber as a viable alternative building material. The broader goal is to provide insights vital to address the increasing mass timber momentum from supply and demand fronts to create economic as well as ecological opportunities.
This study examines resource availability over time informed by projected growth and yield in the forests, as well as the demand from wood processing facilities.
