The New Mexico Reforestation Center (NMRC) was recently founded to meet current and future reforestation needs in New Mexico and the greater Southwest. To improve reforestation outcomes, the NMRC integrates applied seedling ecophysiology and the Target Plant Concept in its operations across all stages of the reforestation pipeline.

Learning Objectives:

Develop an understanding of the reforestation pipeline and its strategic and tactical importance for reforestation success and sustainability at any scale.
Develop an understanding of the Target Plant Concept and its role in the planning and execution of reforestation operations.
Understand the importance of closely integrating research and operations within an adaptive management context to improve reforestation success.
