Director of Conservation Operations - Central Region National Wild Turkey Federation Wamego, Kansas, United States
Oak savannas are some of the most threatened habitats worldwide and many wildlife species prefer oak savannas over closed-canopy forests. Dry pine savannas across the West are also increasingly threatened. The encroachment of shade tolerant conifers is converting valuable savanna habitats and making them less desirable to wildlife.
