Extension Educator, Forest Ecosystem Health University of Minnesota Extension Cloquet, Minnesota, United States
Developed using a model-based methodology, UMN Extension's Climate-Ready Woodlands project consists of climate-resilient, microfauna-friendly tree and plant lists, as well as tree species to consider for refugia, for each ecoregion in Minnesota. Our tree and plant lists provide an easily deployable resource for landowners interested in climate adaptation.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the need for specific tree species recommendations for woodland owners who are interested in climate adaptation.
Upon completion, participant will be able to analyze the associated complexities of working with woodland owners on climate adaptation projects.
Upon completion, participant will be able to understand the methodology used to create ecoregion-specific, microfauna-friendly native tree and plant lists for Minnesota.
