As wolf reintroduction continues in Colorado, the chance for negative human-wolf interactions increases. This poster focuses on how quaking aspen management can be used to maintain elk populations and reduce the risk of human-wolf conflict.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe why quaking aspen is crucial for elk distribution and population management, how elk browsing can induce sudden aspen decline (SAD), and the importance of site specific and landscape level quaking aspen management.
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe how geospatial information systems can be used to analyze forest structure on a landscape scale and find areas to focus on management.
