The role of ponderosa pine resin canals on defenses against mountain pine beetle is being studied in unmanaged and stands from New Mexico to Montana is being evaluated. Preliminary findings will be presented.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to understand the state of the knowledge on ponderosa pine resin canals and tree defenses against mountain pine beetle.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to understand the state of the knowledge on ponderosa pine tree mortality caused by mountain pine beetle in stands managed for restoration compared to unmanaged stands.
