The quantification of Escherichia coli provides insight into how well the water bodies meet regulatory guidelines for safe human and environmental use. Evaluating optical brighteners' efficiency as an indicator of possible wastewater contamination in rivers is critical for understanding pollution sources and identifying regions where mitigation measures may be required.
Learning Objectives:
Upon Completion, participants will be able to learn about the methods employed for quantifying Escherichia coli and evaluating water quality in natural aquatic environments.
Upon Completion, participants will understand how optical brighteners can be used to indicate human-sourced contamination in water bodies. Additionally, the correlation between E. coli and optical brighteners can be known if any.
