The USDA Forest Service, released updated guidance on estimating GHG emissions or removals associated with forest management for U.S. private forests. We will explore some improvements, introduce a workbook tool that engenders co-development of improved approaches in concert with the public, and document research trajectories to refine future editions.

Learning Objectives:

The participant will gain a better understanding of the current state of forest carbon project development in terms of quantifying greenhouse gas dynamics associated with a limited set of forest practices.
The participant will gain access to the digital links and introductory information to both access the associated documentation and greenhouse gas workbook tool while also understanding which components of the methods are expected to be updated in the near future pursuant to emerging lines of research.
