This study will help to discover how different mid-rotation thinning intensities impact loblolly pine stands growth dynamics. The predictive Weibull based model offers insights into diameter distribution and wood product proportions and provides guidance for improving timber quality and maximizing the timber yield.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will have an understanding of modeling techniques, including the Two-parameter Weibull function and regression analysis, for forecasting diameter distribution under different management scenarios.
Participants will identify the key variables influencing diameter distribution in loblolly pine stands and learn how different mid-rotation thinning treatments impact stand structure.
Participants will have an insight about the optimal mid-rotation thinning strategies to enhance the timber quality and increase the yield of high value products.
