Crown ratio (CR) model for intensively managed loblolly pine plantation was developed modifying the CR model from Dyer and Burkhart (1987) to include the pruning effect on model. The CR model can be useful in growth and yield models and decision making while applying silvicultural treatments, for instance, pruning.
Learning Objectives:
Interpret the pruning effect on crown ratio of loblolly pine plantation.
Increase the understanding of the role of crown ratio for more informed management.
