Climate change is outpacing the rate at which many species can adapt. Management strategies are needed to help facilitate the adaptation of California's most valuable timber species: coast redwood. Forest-assisted migration may be one means to help coast redwood adapt to climate change.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to list challenges faced by coast redwood. This includes increasing temperatures (especially in southern populations), declining summer fog, and fragmentation of populations.
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe how forest-assisted migration may be used to facilitate climate change adaptation.
