Biochar can be made from biomass generated in the green industry when trees are pruned and removed. The biochar can then be used in a variety of applications to improve soil-water-plant relationships in the landscape while sequestering carbon. This poster will showcase examples of applications with associated performance data.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to define biochar, how it is made, and how tree biomass is an advantageous feedstock for making biochar.
Upon completion, participant will be able to list key applications of biochar in the landscape and how each of these benefits the environment.
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the lifecycle of biochar in the forest and green industries and how it can generate a positive feedback loop of environmental benefits.
