Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) are helpful to mitigate a region's wildfire risk. As CWPPs, especially in California, have shifted to emphasize community-based resilience and public resources, considerations for the healthcare sector must be made. To protect our most vulnerable, CWPPs should be required to incorporate measures for public health.
Learning Objectives:
describe the public health considerations that involve forestry policy.
identify requirements for creating a Community Wildfire Protection Plan and additional recommendations made by public health studies and official CWPP handbooks.
