In the Cross-Timbers forested region, landowners’ willingness to adopt thinning and prescribed burning is significantly influenced by ownership objectives, forest landholding size, status of encroachment by invasive species, and demographics. Norms and attitudes play a significant role in the adoption behavior of landowners for thinning and prescribed burning.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify the factors that influence private landowners’ willingness to adopt prescribed burning and thinning in the Cross-Timbers forested region.
Upon completion, participants will be able to explore the relationships between psychological factors such as norms, attitudes, perceived ability and their role on landowners’ adoption behavior of prescribed burning and thinning in the Cross-Timbers forested region.
