Although digital technology continues to transform our daily lives, forests are still managed using traditional technologies. We show how Purdue’s Institute for Digital Forestry is developing new tools to move forestry into the digital age. We highlight examples of using different sensing platforms and various AI models for automated measurement, monitoring, and management of forests.
