Kathleen (Katie) is currently working as a Research Assistant while completing an MS degree in Forest Ecology and Managment from the College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science at Michigan Technological University. Her thesis has a primary focus on forest health, where she is examining the potential linkages between oak wilt vectors and springtime bud phenology of oak trees in Upper Michigan and eastern Canada to assess the factors limiting the northern progression of oak wilt above its current disease range. In her free time, she enjoys swimming in Lake Superior, camping with friends, and working on a variety of art projects.
