Natural Resource Specialist
National Agroforestry Center, Washington, United States
Mark Batcheler is the Natural Resource Specialist with the Forest Service. My current research explores biophysical components and processes of agroforestry systems in order to assess both resource concerns and ecosystem services. A key component of this research is the analysis of silvopasture's potential to mitigate wildfire severity through fuels reduction and control of invasive annual grasses. In addition, my research portfolio also includes investigations in carbon sequestration in above and below ground biomass of agroforestry systems.
