Education:
Sanjeev Sharma earned his M.S. in Natural and Applied Science with a Biology Major and Geospatial Science Minor from Missouri State University in 2023, where he achieved a GPA of 3.93. He also holds a B.S. in Forestry from Tribhuvan University, Nepal (2019), with a GPA of 3.81, and completed his high school education in Biology with a GPA of 3.84.
Professional Experience:
Sanjeev currently serves as a Graduate Research Assistant at Clemson University, focusing on plant nematode management, forest fire prediction, and deer vehicle collision prediction. Prior to this, he was a GIS Specialist at the Missouri Department of Conservation, handling asset management and GIS layer creation. He also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Missouri State University, where he taught biology and researched giant cane propagation. His earlier roles include Prairie Steward Technician at the Missouri Prairie Foundation and various positions at the Forest Research and Training Center in Nepal.
Research and Publications:
Sanjeev has contributed to several research projects, including his master's research on the propagation, physiology, and biomass of giant cane, and forest fire prediction using machine learning. His work has been presented at various conferences, such as the Baruch Institute of Coastal Ecology and Forest Science, Applanchian Society of American Foresters (APSAF) and the Missouri Natural Resources Conference.
Skills:
Sanjeev possesses extensive technical skills, including proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Engine, Python, R, ENVI, and UAV operation. He is experienced in greenhouse management, field design, forest inventory, and soil analysis.
Awards:
He has received multiple scholarships and awards, including funding for his master’s research from Websters Grove Nature Study Society and Missouri State Graduate School.
