Ryan Bohannon is a PhD student in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Conservation at Clemson University. Ryan works in the fields of silviculture, forest health, and forest ecology, and he is passionate about conducting applied research to inform forest stewardship. His current research in the Silviculture and Ecology Lab focuses on enhancing the resilience of coastal southern forests to the combined impacts of invasive plants and climate change (e.g., increasing severity of hurricane impacts). His research evaluates silvicultural methods for promoting the regeneration and recruitment of native, climate-adapted tree species. Ryan earned his BS and MS from North Carolina State University. His graduate research in the NC State Forest Health Lab focused on the phenology, impacts, and biological control of the emerald ash borer in the Southeast.
