I am Ichchha Thapa, originally from Nepal and currently a graduate student in Michigan State University. I am in the second year of my PhD program in Forestry with a focus on Forest Resource Economics and Human Dimensions of Natural resources Labs in the Department of Forestry. Prior to attending MSU, I completed my master's degrees in environmental sciences from Tribhuvan University in Nepal and in Earth and Quaternary Sciences from Indiana State University in the United States. Following my interests in building multidisciplinary experiences related to natural resource management, I am working on integrating the human and economic dimensions within the scope of climate smart forestry. My PhD dissertation research focuses on modeling decision making and sustainable sourcing of wood products for prospective mass timber manufacturing in the Lake States.
