Vovener Edmond is a Ph.D. candidate in natural resources at the University of Idaho under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Nelson. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy/Natural Resources and Environment from the Université d'État d'Haiti and a Master's degree in Horticultural Sciences from the University of Florida. During his master's degree studies, he conducted research on vanilla propagation and tissue culture techniques. He contributed to two major publications, including an extension paper entitled "Vanilla Cultivation in Southern Florida." Vovener's current doctoral research is concentrated on understanding drought tolerance in conifer seedlings.
