Travis Stone is a Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Member from the Fort Hall Reservation in Southeastern Idaho. Travis received his Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and his Master’s Degree in Geospatial Information Science from Idaho State University. Travis worked for the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes for 17 years in various capacities including the Energy Resources Program Manager, Environmental Coordinator, a Natural Resources Specialist for the Fish and Wildlife Department, and finally the Land Use Director. Throughout that period, Travis fought for protection of Treaty Rights, worked on Natural Resource management issues, and protection of Tribal rights and interests. In January of 2024, Travis Stone began a new journey as the Assistant Director of the Office of Tribal Relations for the US Forest Service and will continue to work for Tribal Rights, values, and resources on a national scale.
