Dr. Robert K. Grala is a professor in the Department of Forestry, College of Forest Resources, Mississippi State University. He has a split teaching/research appointment. He teaches forest resource economics at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and advanced forest economics at the graduate level. His research focuses on the monetary valuation of ecosystem services, utilization of woody biomass for bioenergy, wildfires, carbon sequestration, and forest business clusters. Robert authored/co-authored 39 peer-reviewed publications and secured research funding totaling $2.1 million. He received 13 awards and honors.
