Richard received his BS and MS from the University of Tennessee in forestry and PhD at Virginia Tech in forestry. Richard works for Auburn University and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System as an assistant professor and Extension specialist in forest operations. His Extension programming focuses on facilitating the Alabama Professional Logging Manager trainings and providing continuing forestry education to loggers and foresters. He teaches courses in timber harvesting, forest surveying, and forest business statistics.
