Aaron Kimple is a Program Director for the Southwest Ecological Restoration Institutes. He leads the ReSHAPE Program, a national program funded through the BIL, designed to map and research the impacts of fuels treatment on wildfire and communities and incorporate the results into collaborative planning strategies. Previously he worked as the Forest Program Director for Mountain Studies Institute overseeing MSIs forest programs, monitoring and evaluation efforts, community stakeholder engagement, and inclusion of community values into large regional initiatives. Aaron has more than 20 years of experience in project management, nearly 30 years of experience with landscape ecology and facilitating the use of data into decision making, and 15 years’ experience in public facilitation and community outreach. Aaron works with the United States Forest Service, the US Department of Interior, regional tribal entities, state leaders, and the local governments and decision makers. Aaron has a bachelor’s degree from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana and a MS from Bard College.
