Dr. Brian Roy Lockhart is retired after a career as a associate professor with the University of Arkansas at Monticello and Louisiana State University follwed by working as research forester with the U.S. Forest Service, Southern Researdh Station. He is a Certified Forester throught SAF, a Registered Forester in the state of Arkansas, and a Certified Senior Ecologist through the Ecological Society of America. He has been the Chair of the Southern Hardwood Forestry Group and Co-Chair of the Silviculture Instructors Subgroup of the D2 Silviculture Working Group. He also a long-serving member of the Biennial Southern Silviculture Research Conference steering committee. He has authored or co-authored over 75 publications in addition to giving many presentations on the ecology, silviculture and management of southern bottomland hardwoods.
