Colorado State University, Colorado, United States
Jane E. Stewart is an Associate Professor of Plant Pathology in the Department of Agricultural Biology at Colorado State University working on forest, shade and fruit trees. Jane has extensive experience in fungal biology, molecular diagnostics, and management of plant pathogens, including invasive and emerging pathogens of trees. She has published over 100 manuscripts on multiple forest pathosystems focusing on speciation of forest pathogens, host pathogen interactions on multiple scales including at the microbiome level to the molecular level, and developing solutions for tree diseases. Dr. Stewart also currently teaches an undergraduate class, Tree Health and Management that is focused on a broad array of diseases and insect pests and their management. Her research program at Colorado State University is focused on tree pathogens globally to better understand the biology, ecology and genetics, and management of emerging tree/plant pathogenic fungi.
