Kamana Chamlagain is a Graduate Research Assistant pursuing a Master's in Forest Resources Management with a Graduate Certificate in Forest Business at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Her current work, part of a U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities-funded project, analyzes entry patterns and career values of Forest and Natural Resources students within a broader workforce study of the U.S. Forest and Wood Products Sector emphasizing Diversity, Equity and Inlcusion.
Kamana holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Institute of Forestry, Tribhuvan University, Nepal where she graduated with honors. Her research interests include wood product research, import/export dynamics, forest product marketing, and forest-based enterprises. She is particularly passionate about women's empowerment in the Forest and Natural Resources Sector and consumer preferences in FNR industries.
When not conducting research, Kamana enjoys volunteering for animal conservation and protection efforts. She has a keen interest in international travel and learning different languages, viewing these as opportunities to broaden her cultural perspectives and global understanding. Kamana currently resides in Monticello, Arkansas, where she continues to pursue her academic goals while fostering inclusivity and innovation in the forest products industry.
