Karen “Ren” Klug is pursuing a master’s degree in Natural Resources with an emphasis in Agroforestry at the University of Missouri. She is currently studying maple syrup production in central Missouri. She received her bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2021. Ren has previously served as an intern with the Forest Service and participated in an international work exchange program on eco-farms, which cultivated her interest in agroforestry. Prior to beginning her master’s, Ren worked throughout Pennsylvania as an orchardist and environmental science consultant.
