I am Bini Dahal, a PhD Candidate in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at North Carolina State University. My current research focuses on analyzing the spatial distribution of pine species in the southern Appalachian region using aerial LiDAR. Additionally, I am investigating the impact of understory density on the accuracy of tree structure modeling by comparing ground-based LiDAR platforms, including terrestrial and mobile LiDAR. I hold a Master's degree in Statistics from North Carolina State University and an MS in Forestry from Mississippi State University. At Mississippi State, I developed allometric equations to estimate the biomass of Short Rotation Woody Crops (SRWCs) and assessed the effects of harvest frequency and spacing on SRWCs biomass production.
