Mateus holds a Bachelor's Degree in Forestry from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil. He is currently pursuing an MS in Forestry and Natural Resources (Forest Finance) at Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, The University of Georgia. Mateus has gained extensive experience with natural and planted forests through internships, exchanges, and conferences in Brazil, Paraguay, the United States, and Russia. He has published over 70 research papers with more than 500 citations, including contributions cited in IPCC reports.
