Regulatory Specialist, National Old Growth Amendment Project Leader
USDA Forest Service, Washington Office, Policy Office, Colorado, United States
Tera Graelyn, Regulatory Specialist, U.S. Forest Service
Tera grew up in Montana surrounded by the Lolo and Flathead National Forests. In fourth grade she declared she would work for the Forest Service one day, a decision that was influenced by her interactions with the local district ranger and a teacher who was a seasonal wildland firefighter. Tera started her 17-year career with the Forest Service after separating from a 6-year stint in the active-duty Air Force. She’s held positions in admin support, public affairs, and program/project management and she has extensive experience working in the NEPA/Planning realm. Her career has included work in three regions (Intermountain, Northern. and Southwestern) and at all levels of the agency (district, forest, regional, and headquarters). She most recently worked as a Staff Assistant in the Office of the Chief, where she coordinated closely with all deputy areas and USDA’s Natural Resources & Environment mission area. This experience led to her being named the project leader for the National Old Growth Amendment. Tera is known for her strategic planning and critical thinking skills, solution-oriented attitude, tenacity when faced with adversity, and ability to foster an environment that champions creativity, innovation and informed risk-taking. She holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of New Mexico and a M.S. in Organizational Performance from Bellevue University. Tera recently moved to Loveland, CO and is enjoying the opportunity to explore all northern Colorado has to offer - especially the Arapaho-Roosevelt and Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests - with her son and two weimaraner/great dane mixes.
