Technology advances could increase the pace and information depth provided by forest monitoring. This session explores drone data from the ponderosa pine field tour, recapping the data collection process, subsequent processing steps, and the range of inventory outputs produced. Also exploring a state agency's experience starting a drone program.

Upon completion, participants will be able to describe the broad steps required for the collection and processing of Uncrewed Aerial System data for forest monitoring.
Upon completion, participants will be able to explain the types of data products that Uncrewed Aerial System can produce, their limitations, and potential applications.
Upon completion, participants will understand what infostructure it takes to initiate an Uncrewed Aerial System forest monitoring program.
