Kate Bezooyen, FIT, is a Wildfire Management Specialist with Forsite Consultants Ltd. With a background that spans both field and office-based roles in ecology, wildfire science, and land management, Kate brings a wealth of experience to her work. Her hands-on experience as an initial attack firefighter has deepened her understanding of wildfire behavior across diverse landscapes and fuel types, as well as the strategies and tactics employed in direct and indirect attack.
In her current role, Kate is involved in wildfire risk mitigation planning, fire behavior analysis and modeling, ecological restoration projects, and prescribed fire planning. She is dedicated to developing solutions that integrate a range of values and address complex land management challenges.
Outside of her professional life, Kate enjoys exploring the trails around her hometown of Kamloops, BC, on her bike or skis, often accompanied by her chocolate lab. Her passion for both wildfire management and the outdoors makes her a dynamic and engaged professional.
