Mike Mitchener
Mike is a 1980 graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Forestry specializing in Wildlife Management. He worked for 35 years for Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism. First as a District Wildlife Biologist in Southwest Kansas, then as the Wildlife Chief in the Operations Headquarters. Mike retired from the Kansas Department in 2015. After retirement he held a position with the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies as a Regional Biologist delivering the Lesser Prairie Chicken Range Wide Plan. In 2019 Mike accepted the National Forestry Initiative Manager position with the National Wild Turkey Federation to implement and coordinate forestry programs delivery with NRCS. Mike lives and works in Central Kansas.
