Needle diseases of loblolly pine, caused by Lecanosticta acicola and other pathogens, pose a severe and unexpected threat to forests in the Southeast. A regional network of multiple scientists is addressing the issue from multiple angles in an effort to advance understanding of the disease and provide management recommendations rapidly.
