This study highlights participation of selected forest-based entrepreneurs (FBEs) in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria in forest regeneration. Regeneration activities by these FBEs include protection of trees against fire, retention of trees on farmland and planting of trees in the compound with a major challenge being access to tree seeds/seedlings.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to evaluate the role of forest-based entrepreneurs in Ekiti State, Nigeria, in contributing to forest restoration efforts, including their practices and decisions influencing forest resource utilization and management.
Upon completion, participants will be able to analyze strategies employed by forest-based entrepreneurs to mitigate timber shortages and promote sustainable forestry initiatives, shedding light on their effectiveness and implications for forest sustainability.
Upon completion, participants will be able to assess the awareness levels among stakeholders regarding forest regeneration activities in Ekiti State, Nigeria, based on the findings from data collected through secondary sources and semi-structured questionnaires, facilitating informed decision-making for forest practitioners and managers at local, national, and global scales.
