Working alongside ForestHer North Carolina, this mixed methods research project explores whether female and non-binary-focused learning networks could be an appropriate avenue for implementing more cooperative, cross boundary forest management to address the limitations of smaller private land holdings and the need for climate resilience in the Southeastern US.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the general state of female forest landownership across NC, SC, and VA compared to national numbers and define several key landowner goals and priorities that could support foresters working in the region.
Upon completion, participant will be able to identify the role that cooperative forest management structures could play for small-scale forest landowners in North Carolina as well as challenges and barriers to implementation.
