Brief Bio
Carolina has been in the natural resources field for over two decades, working in forest management and conservation on three different continents. Through the years, she has been able to convene and lead diverse arrays of partners, building capacity for the conservation and restoration of diverse forested ecosystems and stepping forward as an inspiring leader focused on improving local and global environmental sustainability.
Carolina holds two Masters Degrees, one in Silviculture and Restoration Ecology and one in Integrated Resource Management. She has been a forester for the Colorado State Forest Service ever since moving to Steamboat Springs in 2010. In her role, Carolina has educated and supported hundreds of landowners in actively managing their lands in order to increase forest health and resilience, and reduce the risk of high intensity wildfires.
She is a trusted community partner, involved with several working groups advancing climate adaptation and stewardship of forested watersheds across the NW area of Colorado. She has received multiple awards through her career, the latest being the 2023 SAF Presidential Field Forester Award for District 4.
