Joshua Sloan is the Director of Reforestation Operations and an Associate Professor of Forestry at New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU). He received his B.S. in Forestry and Ph.D. in Forest Biology from Purdue University, and he maintains his credentials as a Certified Forester. He is a co-founder of the New Mexico Reforestation Center and the Principal Investigator of NMHU's National Science Foundation Center of Research Excellence in Science and Technology (NSF CREST) which focuses on forest restoration research, outreach, and education in New Mexico and the Southwest. His current work focuses heavily on tree seed supply chain development and building reforestation workforce and capacity in the western US.
