Colton Meinecke is a research manager and PhD student in the forest pathology laboratory of Dr. Caterina Villari at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia. His work addresses emerging diseases of southern pine forests, developing and deploying diagnostic technologies to better understand disease distribution and impact and examining the genetic and phenotypic bases of pathogen virulence and host disease resistance to inform resistance breeding.
