Jaq is the National Director of the Champion Tree Program (a program that records data about the largest trees in the United States) and holds a Master's Degree in Forestry, with a focus on Urban Forestry, from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He received his Associate Degree of Science and Arts from Northwestern Michigan Community College and his Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Studies with a focus on Theatre and Leadership from Middle Tennessee State University. He also serves as the President of a small non-profit, Better Nature Solutions, which focuses on connecting people from disadvantaged communities with opportunities in arboriculture, forestry, and natural resources.
