I’m Martin Sweeney, the Land Resource Forester for Soterra LLC which is a subsidiary of Greif Inc. My diverse background includes lifeguarding in Gulf Shores, AL, house construction, longshoreman work, and a stint in music in Nashville, TN. Coming from a military family, I deeply appreciate our servicemen and women. I returned to school at 33, driven by my grandmother’s belief in Faith, Family, and Love, which I hold true. As I began my studies at Mississippi State University, I promised her to graduate with honors. My journey has included fighting internal struggles, supported by Faith, Family, and Love, which led me to a career in natural resources. I graduated from Mississippi State University as the president of Xi Sigma Pi Alpha Theta Chapter and fought wildfires for the State of Mississippi before joining Soterra. “Believing in something is everything, and when you believe, everything is possible.”
