Indigenous fire practices have shaped our forests for millennia and are slowly being reintroduced to our forests and communities. Panelists will discuss how the resilience of our future forests are being shaped by current on-the-ground Indigenous fire knowledge and practices.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to explain how Indigenous fire has been used to shape current and future forests and how Indigenous fire can form the basis for community and forest resilience.
Participants attending this panel will be able to identify key components of Indigenous fire.
Participants will be able to outline national perspectives on the importance of Indigenous fire knowledge and practices for 21st century forest management.
