Foresters and managers are increasingly using data in new and complex ways. This workshop empowers forest analysts to better use data to make strategic resource decisions. It adds value by providing hands-on experience with data science problems and their solutions, with a special focus on FIA.

Learning Objectives:

download, install, configure, and use R and RStudio and write, edit, debug, execute, and save R programs.
load Forest Inventory and Analysis data into R and generate tabular and graphical summaries.
merge, reformat, and subset forestry data, and compile and scale data from the tree to plot and county level.
