With more than 30,000 employees, the U.S. Forest Service influences demographics of the natural resource workforce in the United States. Trends in the agency’s employee diversity (gender, race/ethnicity, and their intersection) between 1996 and 2017 show little progress toward achieving a workforce that reflects the demographics of the American population.
